OUR VALUES

Peace of mind

A deep, steady calm that comes from knowing everything is under control. WILLS EXPLAINED.

Everyone Needs A Will

A Will is more than a legal document. It is a gift of clarity, protection, and love. It puts you in control of how your assets, responsibilities, and most personal wishes are handled, ensuring the people you care about are supported exactly the way you intend. Without a Will, your family may face confusion, delays, and difficult decisions during an already emotional time. Without a Will a stranger judge decides who is in charge and who gets what. Without a Will a stranger judge decides who raises your children. With one, you give your loved ones certainty, guidance, and peace of mind.

Use A Lawyer

Everyone has seen the commercials for DIY legal services. These documents may not be binding or they might not address your specific situation. If you want to be sure your documents are legally valid, have a lawyer draft the right type of documents for your individual situation. The benefits can save your loved ones a lot of heartache after you’re gone.

Don’t Forget To Name A Guardian

If you have children living at home and/or dependent on you, it’s vital that you name a guardian for them. A judge will decide who will raise your child if you don’t have a valid Will or if your Will fails to name a guardian properly. An unmarried parent may not automatically receive custody of their own children, especially if someone contests the guardianship. Create a valid Will with a lawyer to properly name guardians.

TRUSTS EXPLAINED.

You may want to consider putting a portion of your estate into a trust

If created properly and set up properly, Trusts help your loved ones avoid the probate court process if you have a disability and when you pass away.

It may also help to minimize estate taxes in states that have estate tax. Setting up a trust can allow your family to avoid uncertainty, extra expenses, and potential arguments and then they can focus on the emotion of the traumatic moment.

Trusts are highly customizable and when created correctly, they create incredible peace of mind. They are a tool unlike any other in the estate planning toolbox!

In order to set up a Trust, you will need legal guidance from lawyers with extensive experience like us. Please call us to speak with an attorney about how a Trust can help you and your loved ones.

Guardianships, Power of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Special Needs Trusts

With over 25 years of experience with individuals with disabilities, we can help you understand how a Special Needs Trust can be used to pay expenses without jeopardizing eligibility for important government benefits.

We can discuss funding sources—insurance, investments, bequests—and the best way to accumulate the necessary assets to provide for the entire lifetime of your child, even after you are no longer here.

We can also help families think through the “circle of support” that will be available to your child when parents can no longer act as caregivers.

Don't take our word for it. Take theirs.

Our ESTATE PLANNING Testimonials

Michele Shields

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Kimberly for our living trust, and we couldn't be more impressed with her service. From the very first meeting, Kimberly was professional, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Kim took the time to understand our unique needs and provided insightful advice that was tailored to each of us. A year prior to meeting Kim my husband had a near death experience which left me feeling lost, confused, and scared about managing our assets on my own. Thankfully by the grace of God, my husband made a full recovery but the experience highlighted the need for proper estate planning. When we met Kim to set up our living trust, she immediately put us at ease. Kim’s expertise in estate law is evident, and she made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She explained complex legal concepts in a way that was easy for me to understand, ensuring I felt confident and informed every step of the way. Her approachable demeanor and genuine care for her clients sets her apart. We highly recommend Kimberly Pisinski to anyone in need of trust and estate planning services. She truly exceeded our expectations, and we are grateful for her outstanding support!

Dawn Kirkwood

Kim did a great job, mid pandemic, to help us obtain guardianship for our special needs daughter who turned 18 in October. Our prior attorney who has worked with us before initially took the matter then decided 2 months later that with the state of the courts, her own personal life, etc. she was unable to assist during the pandemic. We found Kim and despite us never being able to meet in person, specialists being unable to conduct normal evaluations, and the courts being closed and then operating only on a limited basis Kim was able to help us obtain the necessary guardianship for our daughter just before she turned 18 and keep us calm throughout the process. Her help navigating the system and explaining everything was invaluable. In the midst of everything we also found out we had a property line issue with a neighbor and she was able to assist in that matter as well. I highly recommend Kim and her offices for your legal needs!

My wife and I met with Attorney Kim Pisinski to evaluate an estate plan that had been started for us by another firm. We knew of Kim's estate planning expertise because of some non-profit volunteering that she and I were both involved with. We wanted a second opinion before deciding how to proceed with our estate planning. Kim took the time to fully understand our financial profile, our family dynamics and our personal wishes related to our estate planning. She gave us clear, objective and effective legal counsel. We are grateful for her help and we recommend her unequivocally.

Kim was truly great to work with. We started the process of estate planning/setting up a trust without any real knowledge and lots of questions, and Kim was patient and kind, clearly knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This was something we had been meaning to do for years, and she made the process as painless as possible. I felt like she truly wanted to know who we were, and wasn't just trying to fit us into a prescribed formula. Highly recommend!

We found Attorney Kim Pisinski to be very professional. She was kind and compassionate and she felt like family. She explained things in detail that made it easier for us to understand. We would highly recommend her as she is very trustworthy. We were happy we found her.

Kim is truly one of the best and most talented attorneys I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She’s driven, compassionate, and exceptionally knowledgeable across various areas of law and business, and her genuine care for her clients shines through everything she does. I can’t recommend her enough!!!

Attorney Pisinski handled a Connecticut legal matter for me even though I’m based in Virginia. The process took a couple of months, but she stayed proactive, communicated clearly, and her fee was fair for the work involved. The result was exactly what I needed. I’d recommend her without hesitation.

My husband and I were greatly appreciative of the help that Attorney Kinberly Pisinski provided for us, doing health care proxies, wills, and trusts. She made the process easier and clear. We thank her so very much and will continue to have her as our attorney.

Putting our modest family trust into the professional, capable, and empathetic hands of Kimberly was the best thing we ever did. She answered difficult questions with honesty (how to handle blended family challenges, what if we divorce in the future?) and gave us the space to work through tough issues with one another (What if you die first? What about MY kids?) without judgment. She's not only a great attorney, she's a lovely human being. My husband and I are both so pleased to have worked with her.

Kim Pisinski is very knowledgeable, listens closely, and is able to offer various solutions for a problem. She is focused on her clients and communicates clearly and in a timely manner. Kim has been an absolute pleasure to work with!

It was very easy working with Att. Pisinski, she explained all the complicated legal matters in a very simple way. And she welcomes you to ask questions that may come up in the future. I have recommended Att. Pisinski to my Friends & Family!

Kim is professional, caring and responsive, and gets results when needed the most. Her skill and care in making a difficult time much easier to navigate left me very impressed and I would wholeheartedly recommend her services.

As a senior care professional, Attorney Pisinski has been a go to referral for my clients. She is professional, kind, responsive and has the best interest of her clients in mind.

I had an amazing time working with Kimberly A. Pisinski, Esq. Estate Planning for multiple properties I own which was certainly a challenging experience for me at first. Kimberly made it seamless and easy to understand with effective communication and patience - I’m so appreciative and have learnt an awful lot

The law offices of Kimberly A. Pisinski LLC handled preparing a living Will for me. Kim was prompt in returning my phone call and setting up the initial process of what I needed to get the process done. Kim guided me through the process as I knew nothing about creating a Will and answered all my questions promptly. She is easy to talk with and very knowledgeable in estate planning and I plan on using her service for other legal issues in the near future.

Lots of time spent insuring that we understood what was done for us

Wonderful law firm and great customer service !

Very pleased with my experience with this office!

Reaching out and working with Attorney Kim Pisinski has been so valuable. She has guided us through our Trusts and has always been available to answer any and all questions.

If you’re like me you’re old enough to know you need estate planning and young enough to feel like there’s plenty of time. So we’ll get to it, eventually.

Then life happened, which put things acutely into perspective for me. I was hit by a drunk driver. The accident was awful and I’m lucky to be alive. One of the tragedies that could’ve come from that accident is my family would’ve been left without the right things in place to ensure they were taking care of. I was pushing the estate planning off which could have cost my family dearly. I can’t bear the thought.

Fortunately, that wake up call pushed me into action and led me to Kimberly Pisinski.
If your estate planning is not in order take the time to speak with her. It could be one of the best decisions you ever make. I’m clear it was for me and my family.

Prior to finding Kim I did what most of us do. I went down the rabbit hole of Google, Reddit, and YouTube trying to figure it out. I was also asking friends, family, and work colleagues. Lots of information out there. Lots of options. Lots and lots of opinions. I was doing my due diligence and needed to get this right. It’s tricky though. As much of an expert I wanted to be I was going to have to rely on someone.

The family consensus was clear. We needed to get our affairs in order. We needed a trust, a will, and a real plan. But who to go to? Who would do a great job? Who could we trust to do it right? And how would I even know the difference? These questions had my head spinning, and felt overwhelming.

As bad as my luck was getting hit by the drunk driver is as good as my luck was stumbling upon Kim and her team.

My goodness, from the first moment we spoke she made us feel at ease with the process and explained things in a way where everything just made sense. She took her time with us and it was aparent that she had our best interest in hand. She asked thoughtful questions and gave thoughtful answers to ours. I can’t imagine working with anyone else.

I feel a great responsibility to provide for my family while I’m here and after when I’m not. Thank you, Kim for making sure that no matter what I’ll be able to do exactly that.

Forever grateful,
